Unlike most of the Mega Man Game Boy games, this one uses original music in all of the levels (the other games mostly had remakes of the music from the respective Robot Master levels on the NES.)

The character called Crash Man on the NES is called Clash Man in this game. This is most likely because the letters L and R are interchangeable in Japanese.

The game takes Robot Masters from Mega Man II and Mega Man III on the NES. All of the Game Boy games follow this pattern - 4 Robot Masters from the NES game of the same name, and 4 from the next one numerically (for example, this game has 4 of the Robot Masters from the NES Mega Man II and 4 from the NES Mega Man III, while the other 4 from the NES Mega Man II appeared in the first NES game.) The only exception to this rule is Mega Man V on the Game Boy, which has a totally new set of Robot Masters based on the planets of the solar system.
