The Young Doctors final episode aired on Nine Network in March 1983 at 14:30. The following month, a new soap opera created by Reg Watson and produced by Sue Masters for the Grundy Organisation debuted on Nine; Starting Out, which was set around a group of medical students at a boarding house. However, the new series quickly flopped in its early evening timeslot and was discontinued after 85 episodes had been produced. It is a fast paced arrangement with the accompanying visuals of the main cast cleverly ed and synchronised to the bassline of the appealing tune with its distinctive horn section, piano and drum snares. The second version was introduced along with a brand new opening sequence watching the main cast performing an operation. It is easily distinguished by an effect of a beeping heart monitor at the beginning and was used until the final episode in 1983.
